Team DMTC is the only academically based group in the Mobile Electronics Competition Association or MECA. One goal of the Mobile Electronics program at Daniel Morgan Technology Center is to expose students to the highly competitive and professional world of car audio competitions.

Membership on the team is voluntary and not part of the basic class requirements. Students who choose to become members will participate in at least one competition per semester and have greater input in the project cars currently being customized. In addition, they will learn more details about actually competing in the MECA.


MECA is a 12-volt auto competition sanctioning body dedicated to keeping the original intent of car stereo competitions alive. Offering a forum for displaying the best in car audio, MECA caters to people of all ages, giving them a chance to show their creations in mobile electronics.
